Knife Of Dreams (Take Two)

Okay, I made a snarky post a couple weeks ago about Knife of Dreams. I finished it last night. It was awesome. Seriously an excellent fantasy novel. Some of Jordan's previous works may have been mind numbingly dull, but not this one. I couldn't have asked for anything more (except maybe another thousand pages, oh man how am I going to wait for the next one?). Hard to post anything else, because I'm not one for spoilers, and pretty much everything I have to say at the moment takes the form of "Oh my God, spoiler spoiler huge spoiler!"

  1. You're not just trying to spread the pain of a bad book around to lessen your own, are you?

  2. The fact that the 27th was "Rabbit Hole Day" has nothing to do with this post, I'm sure :)

  3. Not to damn with faint praise, but #11 was pretty much one of the better of Jordan's work. So "fron a certain point of view" this ain't over the top...

    :-P

  4. He's been raving to me about this book all week, and there is basically zero chance I will ever read through WoT; I haven't read any of the previous books, so there just isn't enough time left in my natural life, statistically speaking. So it seems unlikely that he's just trying to convince you all to suffer with him.

  5. My general remark about movies and books is "it would have been twice as good if it was half as long".
I'm digging WoT, but Jordan should be flogged with a rubber chicken for having taken so long.
Best feature of KoD was that he didn't start up any new plotlines.
I vaguely remember hearing that he's supposed to grind to a halt around #12, and I think that's a blessing.
Right now, when a new one comes out, my life goes on hold for a day or two while I mainline the thing.
    Horrible addiction.
